What wine to please your Easter guests with?

Which wine will please your Easter guests?

Easter is a time of joy and abundance, when we meet with those closest to us – family and friends. Good wine is a natural part of the festive atmosphere. But what kind of wine should you offer your visitors so that, along with the rich spread of treats, you also treat their senses to an excellent wine?

Know your guests' preferences. Do they prefer white, rosé or red wines? Do they like dry, semi-dry or sweet wines? If you're not sure, ask in advance. That way you avoid disappointment.

Traditional Easter dishes are mostly meat-based, which goes well with a full-bodied red wine. A good choice is Cabernet Sauvignon or Dunaj, but certainly also Blaufränkisch. For those who prefer white, try Müller Thurgau, Welschriesling or the Slovak cross-breed Devín. Well-chilled rosé wine is a universal choice that will satisfy even the most demanding guest. A Grape Selection or Ice Wine is a good partner for sweet dishes and desserts.

Do not forget the right serving temperature and the right glass. The ideal serving temperature is often listed on the label. In general, white wines should be served at around 8-10 °C, red wines at 16-18 °C. Chill rosé and sparkling wines to 6-8 °C. With these tips, you're sure to choose a wine that your guests will enjoy and that will make their Easter more pleasant.

Dunaj – the wine that excelled in Japan

Exclusive Dunaj Grape Selection 2019 from Villa Vino Rača won the Diamond Medal and two champion titles at the SAKURA AWARDS competition in Japan. This unprecedented success clearly deserves the attention of Slovak wine lovers. The winery is a renowned producer of great red wines. Blaufränkisch from Rača is worth mentioning. At the renowned Vitis Aurea Modra competition, Villa Vino Rača won a special award for the best collection of red wines, and Blaufränkisch from Rača was part of that collection.

Naturally sweet Blaufränkisch – the wine that amazed the French

Palugyay Blaufränkisch Ice Wine 2018 was the highest-rated wine in the sweet wine category at Vinalies Mondial du Rosé 2023. A similar success was achieved this year by Palugyay Blaufränkisch 2018 Grape Selection. Again a naturally sweet Blaufränkisch and again from Villa Vino Rača. Out of 3,000 wine samples judged in a blind tasting at the Vinalies Internationales 2024 competition, this wine received the highest score. Naturally sweet wine is suitable for serving with desserts, but can also be enjoyed as a dessert on its own. The complexity of its flavours promises an unforgettable experience.
