Villa Vino Rača won the prestigious Winery of the Year 2025 award

Villa Vino Rača has received the prestigious Winery of the Year 2025 award. The award is a recognition of exceptional viticultural and winemaking qualities in Slovakia. Each year, it goes to a winery that stands out for the quality of its wines, its innovative approach and its contribution to the development of Slovak viticulture and winemaking.

The Winery of the Year award is based on a comprehensive evaluation that includes the quality of the wines produced, the sustainability of production, brand presentation, and overall contribution to Slovak wine culture. The winner is selected from among the best Slovak wineries by an expert jury.

About the Villa Vino Rača winery

Villa Vino Rača is a well-known Slovak winery that combines traditional winemaking with modern technology. It specialises in quality varietal wines that best express the character of the Rača terroir. Five wines from the Exclusive collection hold the Quality Mark award.

The exclusive Palugyay collection represents the pinnacle of Slovak winemaking, where each bottle is proof of precision and passion for wine. The limited edition are naturally sweet wines – ice wines and Grape Selections.

The flagship is undoubtedly Blaufränkisch from Rača. It is an iconic wine that reflects the genius loci of the Rača vineyards. Blaufränkisch from Rača is made from the Blaufränkisch variety with an exclusively Rača pedigree. Maria Theresa also loved Blaufränkisch – in the 18th century she granted a decree allowing Blaufränkisch from Rača to be served at the Viennese imperial court. Blaufränkisch from Rača at Villa Vino Rača comes from the Krivé vineyard site with an area of 4.86 hectares, on weathered granite subsoil. This vineyard is one of the best locations for growing Blaufränkisch in Slovakia.
